In 2010, U.S. Virgin Islands Governor, John deJohn Jr., set a goal for the island to achieve a 60% reduction in fossil fuel consumption by 2025. To help reach a major milestone in the mission, they partnered with Coastal Solar’s Keith Freeman to develop the largest solar panel installation in the Virgin Islands.
In late 2016, Mascot Pecan Shelling Company, a staple in Glennville, GA since the 1950’s, made headlines across the state with the installation of a 3,400 panel solar power system designed to save them nearly $200,000 in energy costs each year.
In 2014, with the help of Coastal Solar’s Keith Freeman, The Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa in St. Maarten became the largest solar resort in the Caribbean region. Over 2,600 solar panels with a capacity of nearly 800 kilowatts - enough to power over 100 average American homes - provide the resort with 1.2 million kilowatt hours a year.
